إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا

Al-Qur`an 33:56

Allah and His angels bestow blessings on the Prophetﷺ. O believers, you also should invoke blessings on him and give him greetings of peace

Let’s just assume our status in society had numerical ranks similar to athletes’ rankings in sports. If we were made aware of 5 words, when uttered could raise us 10 societal ranks, earn us 10 gold coins, and erase 10 gold coins’ worth of debt, I am fairly confident that we would be interested in finding out more. Full disclosure, these words don’t exist and don’t believe anyone who says otherwise. This isn’t necessarily bad news because wealth and status do not have any absolute, real value, but only a perceived value which can disappear into thin air without a moment’s notice.

With the blessings from our creator Allahﷻ we have 5 words, so powerful, when uttered once, raise us 10 ranks in front of Him, earn us 10 rewards, erase 10 sins from our baggage. These are items of real and absolute value unlike the subjective worldly belongings.

صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

BLESSINGS OF ALLAH BE UPON PROPHETﷺ AND GRANT HIM PEACE

Salat mentioned above is the shortest version. It is highly recommended to include additional salutations out of love and respect for Our Prophetﷺ. And include the family of Prophetﷺ. There are many longer versions of salat as well and reciting any version is perfectly acceptable. For instance –

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ سَیِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَسَلِّمْ

O Allah, send prayers and peace upon Our Master Muhammadﷺ and his Family

Sending salat on our Prophet Muhammadﷺ has many benefits in this world and the hereafter. It is the only act Allahﷻ tells us to do that He does Himself. The only time and the only way for the creation to act upon the sunnah of its Creator. An opportunity of the highest calibre. Allahﷻ loves Our Prophetﷺ more than anything else in His creation. The honor bestowed upon Our Prophetﷺ by our Creator is unlike any other in all of the worlds. If we start to list the evidences from Qur`an, one article won’t be enough to contain the love, care, respect and admiration Allahﷻ has for Prophet Muhammadﷺ.

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Al-Qur`an 21:107

We have sent you O Prophet only as a mercy for the worlds

مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٍۢ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًۭا

Al-Qur’an 33:40

Muḥammadﷺ is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of all the prophets. And Allah has perfect knowledge of all things

When we treat children with love and care, we get in good graces of their parents. This is because of the love a parent has for their child. Allah is free of need and He has no offspring. And His love for His Prophet (Rasoolullahﷺ) dwarfs the love between a parent and a child and any other type of love found in all of the worlds. It is a much endearing act in front of Our Lord when His creation sends blessings upon His Prophetﷺ that in return He sends 10 times more blessings upon that individual including His angels. This is a great way to get our soul purified, our mental health rejuvenated, get close to our Creator and earn His favors.
